Most copies that arrived to these stores never saw a shelf because they were already claimed pre-arrival.
In recent news hits, independent bookstores like The Spaniel’s Tale in Ottawa said they sold close to 300 copies of the series between November and January. Black Bond Books in BC sold hundreds as well, claiming they could have doubled the amount if they’d had enough stock.
When Toronto’s Hopeless Romantic Books hosted an event with Rachel Reid, Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams before the show premiered, almost 300 books were sold. Every time they received more stock after the premiere, they were gone.
At the time I write this, Hopeless Romantic has more than 400 preorders of Unrivaled, and it’s February.
Worldwide, the series has sold over 2.5 million copies, with demand for foreign rights to the books rising.
There are even people who want the books so bad, they’re paying scalper prices online. I’m not kidding.
TLDR
If you wait to buy Unrivaled when it comes out, you’ll likely be waiting a very long time.
